About Tayna

Why we do this

Tarot is a beautiful way to step back from a situation and ask yourself the right questions. We wanted it to be available any time, with no queue for a reader, no fee for every spread and no fear of hearing a “verdict”.

So there is no scary wording and no categorical predictions in Tayna. The cards point to what deserves attention; the decisions are always yours.

How a reading works

The deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. The server shuffles it with a cryptographic random number generator when you start a reading. You choose positions in the fan without seeing which card is where — so neither you nor we can pick a “convenient” card.

Whether a card is upright or reversed is also decided during the shuffle, not when you pick.

Who writes the readings

Readings are written by artificial intelligence (an OpenAI language model) following our rules. They are based on classic tarot card meanings, the spread positions and your question. The meanings of all 78 cards, the combinations and the spread descriptions on the site are written and reviewed by the Tayna editorial team.

Your question is used only for the reading and is kept in your Book of Secrets. We do not sell or share data with third parties — see the privacy policy for details.

What Tayna is not

Tayna is for entertainment and self-reflection. Readings do not replace advice from a doctor, psychologist, lawyer or financial professional. If you feel unsafe or overwhelmed, please reach out to people close to you or to professional help.
