Shuffling and laying out cards is the easy part. The hard part comes after: you know what each card means on its own, yet the spread refuses to turn into one story. This tarot interpreter is built for exactly that moment. You enter the cards from your own deck in the order they lie, mark the reversed ones and type your question. Tayna then interprets the whole spread — what each card says in its place and how they speak to each other.

Any physical 78-card deck works, and any layout from one card to ten: a past–present–future spread, a Horseshoe, a Celtic Cross or a layout you made up yourself. If a single card jumped out of the deck and you cannot stop wondering about it, you can ask about that one too.

The interpreter never picks or changes cards for you — Tayna reads exactly what you enter. It does not predict events as facts. It helps you see what the spread says about your situation, and the decision stays with you.

How it works, step by step

The tool mirrors what you just did with your deck, only in reverse: the cards are in front of you and you copy them onto the screen. Order matters — Tayna reads the first card you select as position one, the second as position two, and so on.

  • Select the cards in the order they lie on the table, up to ten.
  • Mark any reversed cards — the ones that landed upside down from where you sit.
  • Type the question behind the spread and, if you like, name the layout: "three cards: past, present, future".
  • Press the button, and Tayna writes a reading of the full spread.
  • Read the answer with your cards still on the table — details are easier to catch that way.

How Tayna reads a spread as a whole

Card meanings one by one are a dictionary; interpreting a spread is building a sentence out of the words. Tayna looks beyond each card's meaning to what the cards do together: which suit dominates, how many Major Arcana appear, where the reversals fall, and how all of it answers your question.

A spread heavy in Cups is almost always about feelings, even if you asked about work. Swords point to thoughts, words and tension. Wands carry drive and action; Pentacles carry the body, money and things you can touch. Three or four Major Arcana in a small spread suggest the situation is bigger than it looks — less an everyday question, more a chapter of your life.

Reversed cards are not read as automatically bad. More often they mean delay, inner resistance or energy that has not found its way out yet. Our article on reversed cards goes deeper.

An example interpretation

Say your question is: "Should I move to another city for a new job?" You laid out three cards — past, present, future — and got the Four of Pentacles, the Eight of Cups reversed and the Chariot.

Tayna would read it roughly like this. The Four of Pentacles in the past: for a long time security was your anchor — hold on to what you have, avoid risk. The Eight of Cups reversed in the present: the urge to leave is already there, but something keeps you in place — habit, fear of losing what is yours, unfinished business. The Chariot in the future: movement that will ask for resolve and the ability to steer your own mixed feelings. Together the cards do not say "go" or "stay". They say the real question is not the move itself but whether you are ready to loosen your grip on the old anchor.

Notice that no single card answers the question alone. Meaning appears only when the cards are read together — that is the difference between a card meaning and a spread interpretation.

When one card falls out of the deck

Sometimes a card slips out on its own while you shuffle — onto the table or the floor. Many readers treat it as a nudge worth listening to. Select just that card and write what was on your mind at the time, or simply "this card fell out, what is it telling me?".

The same goes for a spread where nearly every card is one suit, or a card that keeps showing up reading after reading. Mention it in your question, and Tayna will read the card in the context of what is going on with you rather than straight from a reference book.

What the interpreter can and cannot do

Tayna cannot see your deck or your table. It reads only the cards and the order you enter, so a slip — a swapped position, a forgotten reversal — changes the answer. Check against the table once more before you press the button.

Each interpretation counts as one of your daily readings: three a day without signing in, ten after you sign in with Telegram or email. Tarot is a tool for reflection, not a substitute for a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser — decisions about health, paperwork and money belong with a specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with a deck that is not Rider–Waite?

Yes, as long as it has the classic 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana and four suits. Some decks rename cards — in the Thoth tarot, Strength is Lust and Temperance is Art. Pick the familiar name and Tayna will read the card's meaning.

How many cards can I enter for interpretation?

Up to ten, which covers almost every classic layout, the Celtic Cross included. For a bigger spread, split it into parts and ask about each one.

Do I need to say what each position means?

It helps. Tayna reads the cards in order but cannot know which layout you used. One line in your question is enough: "five cards: me, them, what is between us, the obstacle, the outcome".

What if I do not remember which cards were reversed?

Enter them all upright and say so in your question. The reading loses some nuance, but the overall message of the spread holds. Next time, snap a photo of the table before you gather the cards.

Can I get a second opinion on a spread another reader did for me?

Yes. Enter the cards in the same order and add the question the spread was laid out for. A second reading sometimes catches what slipped past the first.

Does an interpretation use up one of my free readings?

Yes, one interpretation is one reading from your daily allowance: three without signing in, ten after signing in with Telegram or email.
