How Tayna keeps your questions private
People bring personal things to the cards. Here is a short, honest account of what happens to your question after you press “Draw a card”.
Where does my question go when I start a reading?
Your question and the cards you drew are sent to an OpenAI language model, which writes the reading following Tayna's rules. The question is passed as text to interpret; the model is told never to follow instructions inside it.
If you are signed in and filled in the Book of Secrets profile, the request also includes what helps make the reading personal: your name, zodiac sign, gender, relationship status, what matters to you now and your “about me” line. Your email, full birth date, birth time and city are never sent to the model.
Does OpenAI train its models on my questions?
We use OpenAI through its API. Under OpenAI's policies, data sent through the API is not used to train models by default; OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days to monitor abuse and then deletes it.
Who else can see my question?
Your question and reading are stored in Tayna's database so you can come back to them in your Book of Secrets. Only the service administrator has access to the database, for support and abuse prevention. We never publish questions, sell data or share it with ad networks.
Can I read anonymously?
Yes. Without an account you get 3 free readings. To count them, the site keeps a random device ID in a cookie, with no name or email. Readings are tied to that ID and visible only on that device.
To keep your readings on every device, get 10 more as a gift and earn keys for new ones, sign in with email, Google or Yandex ID.
What does a “Share” link show?
A share link opens the cards you drew and the reading. Search engines do not index these pages, but anyone with the link can open it. The reading answers your question and may restate its gist, so share it only with people you trust.
How are my account and sign-in protected?
The site works over HTTPS only. Your password is not stored as is but as a salted scrypt hash. Sign-in cookies are hidden from scripts on the page and are sent over secure connections only.
How do I delete my data?
You can clear your profile yourself in the Profile tab of the Book of Secrets; once saved, it no longer goes into readings.
To delete your account and all readings, write to hello@tayna.io from the address linked to your account. Readings made without an account can be deleted the same way: tell us the approximate date and question so we can find them.
