Tayna guide: keys and rules

Tayna keys are the site's own currency. They open readings, and you earn them by coming back, doing readings and telling Tayna about yourself.

Keys come in three metals: 1 gold = 10 silver = 100 bronze. Bronze builds up every day, a silver key opens a regular reading, and gold keys are for personal readings.

Your keys live in the key box: tap the keys in the site header. It shows your balance, your streak, your history and every way to get more.

Without an account you get 3 free readings per device, any kind, the card of the day and the soul card included. Signing in adds 10 readings as a gift. Card meanings, combinations, forecasts, quizzes and articles are open to everyone with no limits.

Once you sign in, the card of the day is free every day and there is one per day: come back and you see the same card. The soul card from your date of birth is free too.

Once you sign in, a regular reading costs 1 silver key, however many cards it has. If you have no silver key but 10 bronze ones, the reading takes those; if you only have gold, it gets exchanged.

A reading for two costs 1 silver key for the person who starts it; the second person draws for free.

Gifting a reading costs 1 silver key, and the recipient opens it for free. If the gift isn’t opened within 30 days, the key comes back. A card of the day for a friend is free — up to 5 a day. You can give readings with a confirmed email, a day after signing up or after 3 readings of your own — up to 3 a day; a gift is opened on the recipient’s own device, up to 5 a week.

Everyday actions earn up to 100 bronze keys a day. Your streak, milestones, profile and gifts come on top of that cap.

The Path tab in the Book of Mysteries shows your initiation level: Seeker, Apprentice, Adept, Keeper, Magus. It grows with all the keys you have earned, counted in silver; spending keys never lowers it.

81 seals in 10 groups — for daily streaks, readings, the card collection, quizzes, games, the diary, friends, your profile, your voice and seasonal events. Rare seals ✦ bring a gold key.

Every Monday you get three tasks for the week, picked for you: a reading in a new section, two flawless quizzes, the riddle of the day and so on. Finish all three and open the chest.

The riddle of the day hints at the card page where a tiny key is hidden. Find it in one of the page's sections and tap it.

The Deck tab shows all 78 cards: asleep, awakened (drawn in a reading), familiar (5 times), your own (15 times plus a flawless card quiz).

In Tayna's Council you can suggest a new spread, section, game or design and support other people's ideas. Ideas go through moderation, usually within a day.

Each month the team takes on the most supported ideas. The author gets a gold key and the Advisor seal. From the Keeper level (level 4) your vote counts double.

You can also report a bug there; only the team sees it. If it's confirmed, you get 5 silver keys.

In the key box you can exchange 10 bronze for 1 silver, 10 silver for 1 gold, and back: 1 gold for 10 silver. There is no fee.

Keys never expire. They are not money: they cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for currency.

A guest gets 3 free readings. Guests have no keys, but the rewards for their readings wait 24 hours: sign in within that time and they move into your key box.

After signing in you get 10 silver keys, which is 10 more readings, and every reading made on this device is saved in your Book of Secrets.

Your people is a list of up to 6 people you ask the cards about: who they are to you, name, date of birth, what they do and a note. In love and people readings you can pick who the reading is about, and Tayna keeps in mind who that person is to you.

“My year” is three goals, your main fear and what you want to let go of. It helps Tayna in readings about the future.

Only you see this. You can edit or remove a person at any time, and their details are erased at once.

After a reading with a question, Tayna notes the essentials: names, the topic and the situation. In later readings this helps her understand who and what you mean.

All records are in your profile under “What Tayna remembers”. Forget any of them or erase everything at once.

The “How well Tayna knows you” meter in your profile shows how much Tayna knows and suggests what to add.

Cards are drawn by a fair random number generator on the server; keys have no effect on which card you get.

Every reward counts once, and everyday actions have a daily cap. Attempts to farm keys with several accounts or devices lead to disputed rewards being cancelled.
