How do you play Tainordle?
Tap Pick a card and find it in the deck: the cards sit under the Major, Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles tabs, and if you remember the name, type it into the search, in English or Russian. Tap the card, make sure it is the one you meant and press Check. Tayna compares it with the hidden card on five clues: Major or Minor Arcana, suit, number, element and how the card answers a yes-or-no question. Matching clues light up gold.
The number clue has an arrow telling you whether the hidden card's number is higher or lower. For yes or no, orange means close: say you picked a likely-yes card and the hidden one is a firm yes. After each guess a plain-language line sums up what you know, such as “Major Arcana, number 8 to 21. 6 cards fit”, and cards that no longer fit fade out in the deck. After three misses you can reveal Tayna's hint, one keyword of the hidden card; it does not lower the reward.
What a solved card earns
The faster you solve it, the more bronze keys you get: 6 on the first try, 5 on the second and so on down to one key on the sixth. The reward comes once a day and counts toward the daily activity cap. If you are not signed in yet, the keys wait 24 hours: sign in and they move to your key box.
After the game you can send friends your grid of coloured squares: it shows how the hunt went without giving the card away. A new card appears at midnight Moscow time, for everyone at once.
Why it helps you learn tarot
Tainordle trains what reading spreads needs: the suits and their elements, the numbers of the Major Arcana and the overall character of each card. After a week of play the deck starts to feel like a system rather than 78 separate pictures. If the hidden card stayed unsolved, tap it to open its full meaning.
Questions and answers
Is the card the same for everyone?
Yes. On any given day every player hunts the same card, so comparing grids with friends is fair.
What if I don't remember the card names?
You don't have to type anything: pick a card straight from the deck by its picture. Tabs split it into the Major Arcana and the four suits, and cards that no longer fit the clues fade out, so you can switch on Only fitting and choose from what is left.
Does Tayna's hint lower the reward?
No. The hint, one keyword of the hidden card, opens after three misses, and keys are still counted only by the number of guesses.
How are elements tied to the cards?
For the Minor Arcana the suit sets the element: Wands are Fire, Cups Water, Swords Air, Pentacles Earth. The Major Arcana follow the Golden Dawn through their zodiac sign or the card itself; planet cards have no element, shown as a dash.
Can I play again the same day?
No, one game a day. But every day brings a new card, and tarot quizzes can be replayed as often as you like.
