What does The Hierophant mean, and what does this quiz test?
The Hierophant is the card of tradition, learning and shared values: knowledge passed from one person to another. This quiz tests how well you understand its upright meaning, recognize the details of the artwork and see what it says about love, work and money. Five of twelve questions come up in each round.
Every answer has an explanation, so the quiz works as a short lesson on a card that is often read too narrowly.
Is The Hierophant only about religion?
A high priest on a throne makes people think of temples and rituals, but the card reaches further. The Hierophant speaks of any body of knowledge someone built before us: a school, a craft, a professional standard, family customs, a community of like-minded people. It is experience you can plug into instead of reinventing everything.
The central figure is a teacher, and there are always students nearby. That is why The Hierophant often points to finding a mentor, taking a course, earning a certification, or realizing it is time to pass your own knowledge on. A proven method beats an experiment here, especially while the basics are still being learned.
In love the card speaks of a partnership with shared values and a long horizon, of meeting the family and of steps toward making things official. Even here there is a key caveat: a couple's rules should be an agreement, not a duty.
Tayna's artwork is rich in signs of knowledge being handed down. The symbol questions use only details that actually appear on our own card.
