Pentacles court cards quiz: who's who in the suit

Page, Knight, Queen and King of Pentacles: can you tell the student from the steady worker, the homemaker from the provider? Twelve questions with notes.

How do the Pentacles court cards differ?

This quiz compares the four figures of the Earth suit: the Page, Knight, Queen and King of Pentacles. Questions ask which of them best fits a description of a person, an action or a stage in a relationship. Each round draws five of twelve questions, and every answer comes with a short explanation.

Court cards are easy to mix up: all four hold a golden pentacle and all deal with the practical side of life. The difference lies in where each person stands on the road and where their strength points. The quiz helps you feel that difference through real-life situations rather than a glossary.

How do you tell the Page, Knight, Queen and King apart?

Picture a single workshop. The Page is the apprentice who has just picked up a coin and is studying how it's made. The Knight is the worker you can count on: never in a hurry, always finishing the job. The Queen is the one who makes sure everyone is warm, fed and comfortable. The King is the owner who built the business and is responsible for everyone who depends on it.

The Queen and the King share maturity, but it faces different ways. Her care turns inward, toward home and the people close to her; his turns outward, toward the world and its resources. The Page and the Knight differ in another way: one is just starting out, the other is already at work and proving himself over a long road.

In a spread, a court card can describe a specific person or your own way of acting right now. That's why the quiz mixes questions about people with questions about roles at work and in a couple.

How to play and earn keys

Some questions ask you to pick one of four cards by their pictures; others give you a scenario. Answers are final, but you can replay as often as you like. Tayna keys go to a round with all five answers right.

When in doubt, go back to the workshop: who is learning, who is working, who is caring and who carries responsibility for it all. That simple map helps with almost every question.
