How do you exchange keys on Tayna?
This quiz checks how well you understand key exchange on Tayna: which swaps the key box offers, at what rate, and what happens when you pay for a reading without the right metal. Each run has three questions, all based on the rules in the Tayna guide.
Exchange lives in the key box, which opens when you tap the keys in the site header. It has three buttons: 10 bronze for 1 silver, 10 silver for 1 gold, and the way back, 1 gold for 10 silver. There is no fee, so nothing is lost along the way.
Why is the rate always ten to one?
The rate comes straight from the metals themselves: 1 gold equals 10 silver, and 1 silver equals 10 bronze. Exchanging upwards only works in whole portions, so ten bronze become one silver and there are no halves. If you are short for a swap, the key box simply tells you so.
Often you do not need to swap by hand at all. A regular reading costs 1 silver key, and if you have no silver but 10 bronze, the reading takes those ten bronze on its own. If all you hold is a gold key, it breaks into 10 silver: one pays for the reading and nine stay in your box.
Can keys be turned into money?
No. Keys are the site's own currency, not money: they cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for any real currency. They open readings and other parts of Tayna, and that is all they are for.
On the bright side, keys never expire, so there is no rush to exchange anything. Save bronze and swap it for silver at your own pace, and keep gold for personal readings.
Each answer in the quiz comes with a short explanation, and a full review follows at the end. To read the rules in one go, the exchange section sits in the Tayna guide next to everything else about keys.

1. No silver, 25 bronze. What happens when you open a regular reading?
Right answer: Takes 10, leaves 15
With no silver key, the reading takes 10 bronze, which is exactly one silver. The other 15 stay in your key box.
2. Tayna takes a small fee when you exchange keys in the key box.
Right answer: Myth
There is no fee: 10 bronze make 1 silver, 10 silver make 1 gold, and back again with nothing lost.
3. You only have 1 gold key and open a regular reading. How much silver is left?
Right answer: 9
The gold key breaks into 10 silver, one pays for the reading, and 9 stay in your key box.
4. Which of these can you do with the keys you saved?
Right answer: Break gold into silver
Keys are not money: you cannot withdraw them or swap them for currency. But a gold key breaks into 10 silver.
5. In the key box you can swap 15 bronze for one and a half silver.
Right answer: Myth
Swaps upward go in whole tens only: 10 bronze for 1 silver. The extra 5 simply wait for the next swap.
6. You have 9 silver and 10 bronze. Can you get a gold key?
Right answer: Yes, in two swaps via silver
10 bronze become 1 silver, which brings you to 10 silver, and those swap for a gold key.
7. Where on the site do you swap one metal for another?
Right answer: In the key box
Swaps happen in the key box, opened from the keys in the header: 10 bronze for a silver, 10 silver for a gold.
8. How many bronze keys does it take to swap your way up to 1 gold?
Right answer: 100
10 bronze make a silver and 10 silver make a gold: 10 × 10 = 100 bronze keys.
