What does the money tarot spread quiz test?

This quiz is about Tayna's three-card money reading: Your finances now, What slows you down and Where your resource is. It checks whether you know what each position does, how to read suits and Major Arcana in a money question, and how to phrase the question so the cards answer to the point.

Every run draws five of twelve questions in a shuffled order. A short explanation follows each answer, and a full review stays at the end. Replay as often as you like; the mix changes every time.

How the money spread works

The first card shows how things really stand, not only in your account but in how money feels to you. Pentacles here point to the practical side, Cups to money tangled up with emotions, Swords to worry and thoughts going in circles. The second card names the brake: fear, a habit, other people's expectations or simply too much on your plate.

The third card looks for support: a skill, contacts, time or a trait you tend to underrate. A court card in this slot often points to someone near you, or to a role you could step into yourself.

Major Arcana widen the question beyond the budget. The Wheel of Fortune speaks of changes you can barely steer, the Empress of abundance through care, and the Devil of attachment, whether to debt, a job or a spending habit.

Which money questions work best?

Cards answer 'why' and 'what' well and 'how much' or 'when' poorly. Rather than asking about a sum, try 'what do I need in order to earn this much'. The spread doesn't name dates; it shows what speeds money up and what holds it back.

Tarot helps you understand your feelings and habits; it isn't financial advice. Make decisions about loans, savings and investments with real numbers and a professional. For narrower questions the section also offers Money this month, A big purchase or deal and Money mindset.

  1. 1. Which position closes the money spread?

Right answer: Where your resource is

The order is finances now, what slows you, where your resource is. It ends on support, not a forecast.

  2. 2. Which Major Arcana card in a money reading speaks of attachment and debt?

    Right answer: The Devil

In a money question the Devil means attachment: to debt, to a job or to a spending habit.

  3. 3. What do Cups in the 'Your finances now' slot mean?

Right answer: Money is tied to feelings

Cups in the first slot say money is bound up with emotions. Swords mean worry, Pentacles the practical side.

  4. 4. The money spread can name the date the money will arrive.

    Right answer: Myth

It doesn't name dates. It shows what speeds money up and what holds it back.

  5. 5. The Five of Pentacles lands on 'What slows you down'. What is it about?

Right answer: Fear of having nothing

As the brake, this card of scarcity often means fear of being left with nothing, though help is close by.

  6. 6. What's the best way to ask tarot about money?

Right answer: What do I need to…?

Cards answer 'what' and 'why' better than 'how much', so ask about your own step toward the goal.

  7. 7. What do Wands say in a money reading?

Right answer: Money follows your passion

Wands are drive and initiative: here money follows work that genuinely excites you.

  8. 8. The Seven of Cups is what slows you down. Where is the money likely going?

    Right answer: Small daily wants

Lots of small wants and 'I'll treat myself later' promises quietly eat the budget.

  9. 9. You need to weigh one big deal. Which spread in the section fits best?

    Right answer: A big purchase

A big purchase or deal weighs one major decision: for, against and advice.

  10. 10. What does a court card in 'Where your resource is' often point to?

Right answer: A person or your role

Court cards in the resource slot often show a person nearby or a role worth stepping into.

  11. 11. Which card in a money reading stands for abundance through care?

    Right answer: The Empress

In a money question the Empress is abundance that grows out of caring for yourself and your work.

  12. 12. A money reading answers 'why' better than 'how much'.

    Right answer: True

Cards see causes and habits clearly; instead of a figure they show what surrounds it.
