Which tarot cards show angels?
This quiz checks how well you know the winged figures of the Tayna deck and what they stand for. Three Major Arcana put an angel at the center of the scene: The Lovers, Temperance and Judgement. A fourth angel sits in a corner of the Wheel of Fortune, reading a book beside an eagle, a bull and a lion.
Each of these angels has a job to do. Above The Lovers it spreads its arms against the sun and blesses the union. On Temperance it stands barefoot at the water's edge and pours water from one cup into another. On Judgement it sounds a long golden trumpet while people rise toward the light. Same figure, three different lessons: choice, balance and awakening.
The details tell them apart. The Lovers' angel has crimson wings and flame-colored hair. The Temperance angel has wings of copper and garnet and a golden square holding a triangle on its chest. The Judgement angel has golden curls and deep red wings.
Wings that do not belong to angels
Angels are not the only figures with wings. The goat-headed figure on The Devil has bat wings, an image of what holds us from within rather than an outside evil. Above the couple on the Two of Cups a lion's head spreads fiery wings, a reminder that real closeness takes courage. The white wings on the Knight of Cups' helmet speak of imagination, and one of the Seven of Cups' cups holds a dark winged dragon.
Winged images show where a card's story reaches beyond everyday life: toward a calling, inspiration, fear or temptation. None of them promises a miracle or threatens disaster. The cards are there to help you reflect, and the choice stays with you.
Each run draws five questions from a pool of twelve, with the options shuffled. You cannot change an answer, but you can replay as often as you like. Keys are awarded for a run with no mistakes, and every explanation links to the full card page.
