What does the card of the day quiz check?

This quiz is about Tayna's shortest spread: a single card for the day. It tests how you read it, from what the suit hints at and what a Major Arcana card adds, to how to take a hard or reversed card and when it's time for a bigger spread.

Each run gives you five of twelve questions with a short explanation after every answer. There's nothing here about keys or rewards for the daily card; a separate quiz on the site rules covers that. This one is purely about reading the card.

One card, one focus for the day

The daily card doesn't schedule your hours. It picks out the theme that speaks loudest today. Wands usually point to work and drive, Cups to people and feelings, Swords to thoughts and conversations, and Pentacles to money, the body and practical chores. A Major Arcana card hints that the day matters more than it seems at breakfast.

Morning is the best time to draw, before the day gets going, so you can carry the hint with you. Leave the question field empty and Tayna reads the card as general guidance; type in a meeting or an exam and the reading ties the card to it. A new card appears after midnight Moscow time.

Is a hard card in the morning a reason to panic?

No. The Tower, the Ten of Swords or a reversed Ace ask for attention: don't decide in the heat of the moment, leave yourself some slack, admit when you're tired. It's a warning, not a forecast. A reversed card usually means a delay or energy turned inward; a reversed Chariot, for instance, says ease off the gas.

And if one situation drags on for weeks and the daily card describes it differently every morning, one card isn't enough. Open the situation spread with its core, obstacle and way out instead. This quiz helps you remember those limits so the morning ritual stays short and calm.

All questions and answers

Open after you play: the full question set with right answers and explanations.
  1. 1. Your card of the day is the Two of Pentacles. What kind of day is likely?

Right answer: Many tasks, stay flexible

The juggler card: tasks all want attention at once. Do the main thing and calmly reshuffle the rest.

  2. 2. What do Cups usually point to as the card of the day?

    Right answer: People and feelings

Cups point to people and feelings, Swords to thoughts and talks, Pentacles to money and chores.

  3. 3. Which card, reversed, asks you not to turn an evening talk into a trial?

    Right answer: Justice

Justice reversed: a tally of grievances builds up. Bring one clear request to the talk, not a list.

  4. 4. It helps to reread your daily card's reading many times each morning.

    Right answer: Myth

Read it once in the morning, recall the hint during the day, and check it against the evening.

  5. 5. Your card of the day is the Chariot reversed. How do you handle the day?

Right answer: Ease off the gas

A reversed Chariot isn't defeat, just a day when pushing against circumstances won't help.

  6. 6. Roughly what share of daily cards comes up reversed?

    Right answer: About a third

The server shuffles the deck, and about a third of cards land reversed, just like a real table spread.

  7. 7. You have an important exam today. How should you draw the card of the day?

Right answer: Name the exam in the question

Put the event in the question and the card speaks to the mindset to bring. A hard card means prepare.

  8. 8. On an ordinary workday you draw a Pentacles card. What is it likely about?

Right answer: Deadlines and small costs

On a workday Pentacles mean deadlines and small costs, Swords emails and meetings, Wands initiative.

  9. 9. Your card of the day is the Sun. How should you use the day?

Right answer: Show people your project

With the Sun things come easier than usual: a good day to show people what you've long wanted to share.

  10. 10. What happens if you leave the question blank for the card of the day?

Right answer: You get general advice

With no question Tayna reads the card as general advice for the day; add one and the reading ties to it.

  11. 11. One situation drags on for weeks and each daily card reads it differently. What now?

    Right answer: The situation spread

The daily card answers 'how do I live today'. A long story needs the core, the obstacle and the way out.

  12. 12. Your card of the day is Strength and everyone around is arguing. What works?

    Right answer: Patience, not pressure

Strength calls for a gentle touch: stay calm where others rush and quarrel.
