What does the ex tarot spread quiz test?

This quiz covers Tayna's five-card ex reading: Why it ended, What they feel now, Do they think of you, Is there a way back, and Advice. It checks whether you know what each position is about, how to read a reversed card in it, and when another spread would be the more honest choice.

Each run draws five of twelve questions, with a short explanation after every answer. The quiz doesn't guess at your story or promise anyone's return; it teaches you to read the spread calmly and without fooling yourself.

How to read the five positions

The first card names the root of the breakup, not the surface trigger but what built up beneath it. The second describes their feelings today: Cups and bright Major Arcana suggest a living feeling, Swords suggest pain and inner argument. The third shows how often and in what light you cross their mind; a reversal here usually means they push those thoughts away, not that you're forgotten.

The fourth card says whether the door is open, and even a bright card sets a condition: what has to change so the old story doesn't repeat. The fifth position is always about your move, not theirs: reach out, wait, or let go.

Time changes the reading too. Right after a breakup, read the way-back slot as 'not now'; a year later the spread speaks mostly about what that story means to you today.

When to choose a different spread

If all you want to know is whether they'll return, the three-card Will my ex come back answers more directly. A chance meeting belongs to Will we meet, fresh heartbreak to After a breakup, and a story with a third person to Love triangle.

The spread works the same for an ex of any gender: the cards read the relationship, not the person's sex. Don't repeat it daily, or the cards start answering your anxiety instead of your question.

All questions and answers

Open after you play: the full question set with right answers and explanations.
  1. 1. Which position is fourth in the ex spread?

Right answer: Is there a way back

The order is cause, feelings, thoughts, way back, advice. Card four says whether the door is open.

  2. 2. A reversed card in 'Do they think of you'. What does it most likely mean?

Right answer: They push it away

A reversal here doesn't mean 'forgot you'; it's more that they push those thoughts away.

  3. 3. Which 'Why it ended' card means the bond broke under work and chores?

    Right answer: Ten of Wands

The Ten of Wands as the cause: work, chores and duties wore the bond out, leaving no strength for love.

  4. 4. The ex spread doesn't work if your ex is a woman.

    Right answer: Myth

The positions read the same for any ex: Tayna interprets the relationship, not gender.

  5. 5. The King of Cups sits in 'What they feel now'. What's going on inside?

    Right answer: Warmth behind calm

A calm, even surface with a lot of warmth underneath that they're in no hurry to show.

  6. 6. What is the Advice position in the ex spread always about?

    Right answer: Your own move

The advice is always about your move: reach out, wait or let go. Never about what they'll do.

  7. 7. You broke up a week ago. How should you read 'Is there a way back'?

    Right answer: As 'not now'

In the first weeks emotions peak, and choices made in pain are rarely accurate, hence 'not now'.

  8. 8. Which 'Is there a way back' card says the door is most likely closed?

    Right answer: Eight of Cups

The Eight of Cups: someone has already moved on, not out of spite but by an inner choice.

  9. 9. All you want to know is whether they'll come back. Which spread fits best?

Right answer: Will my ex come back

Will my ex come back uses three cards: what keeps them away, what pulls them back, and the answer.

  10. 10. Swords in 'What they feel now'. What do they show?

Right answer: Pain and inner conflict

Cups and bright Majors here mean a living feeling; Swords mean pain and arguing with oneself.

  11. 11. You can do the ex spread even five years after the breakup.

    Right answer: True

Cards read the bond, not the calendar; the spread shows what that story means to you now.

  12. 12. Temperance is the Advice card. What should you do?

Right answer: Neither chase nor flee

Temperance as advice: don't rush toward or away; find an even pace and let feelings settle.
