What the card shows

On our card a young woman with long golden hair and a crown of leaves and white flowers kneels on one knee at the edge of a pool. She is dressed only in trailing green leaves. From one golden jug she pours water into the pool, sending glowing rings across its surface; from the other she pours onto the earth, where it runs off as a stream over the stones. A great eight-pointed star shines above her among smaller ones, a little bird perches on a branch, and dark mountains and cypresses rise in the distance.

Water flowing back into both the pool and the earth is the renewal of feeling and of life: you give, and your strength returns. Her near-total openness speaks of an honesty with nothing left to hide. The star overhead is a quiet faith that the path is lit, even when you can only see part of it, and the bird on the branch is a sign that song is returning to your life.

Upright meaning

The Star upright means hope, inspiration and quiet recovery after a hard time. It is the seventeenth card of the Major Arcana: after the storm of The Tower comes a clear night — calm, cool and full of lights.

The card says you can believe again — in yourself, in people, in the future. This is a time to rest, dream and make plans without pressure. The Star does not promise instant miracles or rush you, but it gives back the feeling that you are on the right road and that the light never went anywhere.

Reversed meaning

The Star reversed speaks of lost faith: the light is hard to see, and dreams feel distant or naive. You may be tired, disappointed or feel that nobody notices your efforts.

The card gently reminds you that the stars are still there behind the clouds. Take care of yourself, remember the small joys and whatever used to inspire you. Hope returns not in a rush but drop by drop, like water slowly filling a pool.

The Star in love and relationships

Upright

In love, The Star brings tenderness, sincerity and trust restored. If you are single, your heart is open again — a meeting may be quiet but deeply real. In a relationship, warmth and meaning return after a difficult period, and breathing comes easier side by side. It is a bond where you can be yourself without masks.

Reversed

The Star reversed in a relationship is disappointment or fatigue from waiting. You might stop believing love is possible at all, or idealize someone and then suffer from the gap between the dream and the reality. The card suggests not shutting down completely and rebuilding hope in small steps. Sometimes faith in yourself has to come back first, before faith in someone else.

The Star as feelings

When The Star describes someone's feelings for you, they see something bright and inspiring in you. They feel calm around you and want to be better. It is a sincere, tender feeling, with more hope and admiration in it than heat.

The Star in work and career

At work, The Star brings inspiration and fresh ideas. Creative projects flow, and a dream can be turned into a plan. Recognition and support are possible, especially if you show your real vision. Trust what lights you up.

The Star in money

With money, The Star points to gradual improvement after difficulty. Things are calming down, and you can sketch out longer-term goals. Keep the faith, but back it up with small, practical steps.

The Star as the card of the day

As a card of the day, The Star is a day to recharge and reconnect with a dream. Do something that fills you up: an evening walk, music, a talk with someone close. A good day to write down what you truly want.

The card's advice

Let yourself hope and dream again. The light is always there — sometimes you only need to lift your head and look up.
