A quiz on the three-card spread: what the past card shows, why the present is the center and how to read the future card calmly. Three questions a round.

What does the three-card spread quiz test?

This quiz checks how you read the shortest story spread there is: past, present and future. The questions cover what each position means, which card carries the most weight and how three cards turn into one sentence. A couple of myths are in there too, the kind that make beginners nervous about the third card.

The layout looks simple, but it is easy to misread. Many people treat the first card as a life story and the third as a sentence passed on them. Tayna reads it differently: the past shows only what still has an effect, and the future shows where the current line goes if nothing changes.

Why the present sits at the center

The middle card holds the other two together. Through it you see where the situation came from and where it is heading, and, most importantly, where you still have room to turn. So when the future card disappoints, your eyes go back to the middle rather than the start.

The quiz also trains you to read the three cards as a group. A suit that repeats in every position names the theme at once, while several Major Arcana hint that the story is bigger than it seemed. These clues help in any spread, not only this one.

The spread works for almost any topic: study, work, friendship, a move. It answers best about a process that is still unfolding and worst about what someone else will decide. There is a question on that as well, and another on how it differs from Ask the cards a question, where the three positions do not follow time.

Rules

A round picks three of the eight questions at random, in a fresh order. Once you tap an answer it stays, yet replays are unlimited. The first round you finish without a mistake brings three bronze keys.

All questions and answers

Open after you play: the full question set with right answers and explanations.
  1. 1. Which card is the central one in Past, present, future?

    Right answer: The present

The present ties the past to the future and shows what you can still influence today.

  2. 2. The third card, the future, is a verdict that cannot change.

    Right answer: Myth

The future card extends the current line. If you dislike it, look at card two: the present leaves room to turn.

  3. 3. The past position shows a reversed card. What does it often point to?

    Right answer: Something left unfinished

A reversed card in the past often marks something unclosed: an old hurt, an unfinished task, a regretted choice.

  4. 4. Which card in the future position most likely signals a big turn?

    Right answer: Wheel of Fortune

A Major Arcana in the future slot means a notable turn; minor cards mean gradual change in their own area.

  5. 5. What does the first card of the spread, the past, show?

Right answer: What still affects you now

Not your whole life story, just the part of the past still at work: a feeling, a decision, an event.

  6. 6. All three cards share a suit. What does that tell you?

Right answer: The theme is plain to see

One suit across all three names the area clearly. Two Major Arcana would say the story matters more than it seems.

  7. 7. How does Ask the cards a question differ from this spread?

Right answer: Its positions are not about time

It also has three cards, but they are the heart of it, what to know and the answer. Here the cards follow time.

  8. 8. Which question suits a past-present-future reading best?

Right answer: Where is my project heading?

This spread likes questions about an ongoing process and about you, not about another person's decisions.
