Theme of the year · Temperance

The theme of the year, Temperance, whispers of steady integration: blending old and new, desire and patience, effort and rest. It favors those quiet, continuous choices that keep you aligned rather than dramatic swings.

January · Ten of Pentacles

The energy of January, with the Ten of Pentacles, highlights roots, traditions and what “security” truly means to you. It’s a month to notice where you already belong and what kind of legacy you want your daily life to build.

February · Two of Cups

February’s Two of Cups brings a focus on honest, reciprocal connection. Partnerships of all kinds can deepen through simple, sincere exchanges where you allow yourself to both offer and receive.

March · Ace of Swords

In March, the Ace of Swords cuts through fog and wishful thinking. This is a mental fresh start, favoring decisions made from clarity, truth and a willingness to see what is actually there.

April · King of Swords

April’s King of Swords asks for calm, fair-minded authority in your choices. It’s a time to step back, think things through, and let reason and integrity guide your voice and boundaries.

May · Four of Pentacles

May, under the Four of Pentacles, turns your attention to what you hold tightly. It invites you to distinguish between healthy stability and clinging from fear, especially around your time, energy and resources.

June · Seven of Swords

June’s Seven of Swords brings a strategic, independent streak. You may feel drawn to work quietly, refine your plans behind the scenes, and choose your confidants with care.

July · King of Pentacles

In July, the King of Pentacles grounds the year in practicality and generosity. It supports patient effort, wise stewardship of what you have, and leading by example rather than by pressure.

August · Eight of Swords

August’s Eight of Swords points to self-made limits and looping thoughts. It encourages you to question the stories that keep you feeling stuck and to experiment with one small, freeing action.

September · The World

September, with The World, marks a sense of completion and ripening. It’s a moment to recognize how far you’ve come, integrate the lessons, and quietly prepare for a new cycle.

October · Three of Swords

October’s Three of Swords brings attention to old and new disappointments of the heart. It is an invitation to let yourself feel, name the hurt, and release the narratives that keep it lodged in place.

November · Five of Swords

In November, the Five of Swords highlights tension and the cost of “being right.” This is a month to notice which arguments drain you and where stepping back might protect what truly matters.

December · Page of Wands

December’s Page of Wands arrives like a spark after the storm, full of curiosity and possibility. It favors playful experiments, small brave beginnings and saying yes to what genuinely excites you.

The year moves from solid ground and connection into sharp mental clarity, then through questions of control, strategy and constraint, before culminating in completion, emotional honesty and a renewed sense of adventure. Temperance threads through it all, reminding you that balance is not a static pose but an ongoing negotiation between head and heart, safety and growth. If you keep adjusting gently rather than swinging to extremes, the challenges can become the very material of your next, braver chapter.

Where could you soften your grip just enough to let something new and truer grow?

Your personal reading

The cards are shuffling…

A yearly tarot reading is the biggest of the forecasts: thirteen cards showing the main theme of the year and how it plays out month by month. At the top of the page is the shared tarot forecast for 2026. The server draws its cards and the text is written automatically. It always covers the coming year: on November 1 the page switches over to the next one.

The shared forecast is the same for everyone and sketches the year in broad strokes. Below it is your personal yearly spread: the first card is the theme of the year, the other twelve run from January to December. Ask about what matters to you — work, love, a move, studies or your own growth — and Tayna ties all thirteen cards to that question.

A year spread does not write your fate in advance. It helps you see the rhythm: when to begin, when to save energy, when to take stock. The choices in each month remain yours.

How to read a year spread

It is tempting to treat thirteen cards as a list of predictions, but they are far more useful read as one story. Start with the theme of the year, then walk through the months looking for echoes.

  • A suit that keeps repeating shows the main area of the year: Wands for drive and projects, Cups for feelings and people, Swords for decisions, Pentacles for work and money.
  • Major Arcana among the months mark turning points.
  • Reversed cards flag months to slow down and not force things.
  • When the theme and December echo each other, the year tends to come together as a whole.

The shared yearly forecast and your own spread

Tayna makes the shared forecast for 2026 for everyone: the server draws the cards with a cryptographic random generator, and about a third come out reversed. It is the backdrop of the year, its general mood.

Your personal spread is about your year. It answers your question and does not have to match the shared forecast. If you would rather know your year card by birth date, try the Year card page — there the card is calculated, not drawn.

Frequently asked questions

When does the tarot forecast for next year appear?

On November 1. From that day the shared forecast switches to the coming year: the server draws new cards and the text is written automatically.

When is the best time for a yearly tarot spread?

Most people draw it in late December or the first days of January. But it works just as well on your birthday or before a big new chapter — the twelve months then count from that point.

Why does the year spread have 13 cards?

One card is the theme of the year, the meaning that ties everything together. Twelve more are one per month. That way you see both the whole and the road to it.

How is a year spread different from a year card?

Your year card is calculated from your birth date and stays the same for you all year. A year spread is drawn from the deck around your question and covers the theme plus all twelve months.

Should I redo my year spread several times?

Once is better — then keep coming back to it. Save it to your Book of Secrets and reread it at the start of each month, so the advice gets used instead of lost among new readings.

What if an important month gets a hard card?

Treat it as a heads-up, not a verdict. A hard card shows where you will need strength and support. Knowing that early makes it easier to prepare and not overload that month.
