Tarot compatibility by birth date

Two birth dates, three cards — yours, your partner's and the couple's — and a calm look at what holds you together.

Your date of birth
Your partner's date of birth

Tarot compatibility lets you look at a relationship through the Major Arcana. You enter two birth dates, the calculator finds each person's Personality card and combines them into a third: the couple's card. Tayna reads all three together — where you meet, where your natures rub against each other, and what story you are writing as two.

A birth date compatibility reading works for any couple: just starting out or together for decades, married or not, any gender. It also works for friendships and work partnerships, because the cards read the bond between two people, not only romance.

Think of it as a reflection, not a verdict. The cards will not say you are wrong for each other, and they will not promise forever. They show which energies have met; what grows from them depends on both of you.

How tarot compatibility is calculated

The calculation uses the same method as the Personality card on the birth date page. For each person, add the day, month and year of birth, then add the digits of the total until you reach a number from 1 to 22. That is their card among the Major Arcana, where 22 is The Fool.

The couple's card is the two numbers added together and reduced the same way. If the total is above 22, add its digits once more.

  • First date: day + month + year, then reduce the digits to 22 or less.
  • Do the same for the second date.
  • Add the two numbers. Above 22? Add the digits — that is the couple's card.
  • Tayna reads the three cards together: you, your partner, and what is born between you.

Worked compatibility examples

One partner was born on 14 March 1990: 14 + 3 + 1990 = 2007, digits 2 + 0 + 0 + 7 = 9 — The Hermit. The other on 25 December 1987: 25 + 12 + 1987 = 2024, digits 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8 — Strength. The couple's card: 9 + 8 = 17 — The Star. A quiet, reflective person and a warm, patient one build a bond centred on hope and gentleness. This couple does best when neither rushes the other.

Another couple: 6 April 1980 gives 6 + 4 + 1980 = 1990, and 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 — The Sun. Paired with The Hermit from the first example: 19 + 9 = 28, digits 2 + 8 = 10 — Wheel of Fortune. A bright nature and a private one are opposites that keep each other swinging. The Wheel describes a relationship always in motion: closeness and distance take turns, and that is not a fault but the couple's rhythm.

If one of you has The Fool, it counts as 22 in the sum. Born 1 January 1991: 1993, and 1 + 9 + 9 + 3 = 22 — The Fool. With The Hermit: 22 + 9 = 31, digits 3 + 1 = 4 — The Emperor. One partner's lightness and the other's depth call for a third element: structure, shared rules and clear agreements.

How to read the three cards

Your card and your partner's card are what each of you brings into the relationship: your manner, habits and strengths. Notice whether they complement each other or sound alike. Two very similar cards mean you understand each other without words — and share the same blind spots. Two opposite cards mean attraction and arguments.

The couple's card matters most. It is not the sum of two personalities but a third force: what you become together and what the relationship teaches you both. Even if your personal cards look like a poor match, the couple's card can show why you found each other.

A hard couple's card — The Tower, The Moon or The Hanged Man — does not doom a relationship. The Tower describes a bond that breaks old ideas. The Moon says a lot stays unspoken and it is time to talk plainly. The Hanged Man points to a couple that teaches patience and seeing things from a new angle.

Compatibility vs a relationship spread

Birth date compatibility describes the constant background — which energies met in this couple at all. It does not change after a fight or a reconciliation. To see what is happening between you right now, you need a spread drawn from the deck, such as the Relationship reading or the Lovers' Pyramid.

A good order is to check compatibility first for the overall pattern, then ask the cards a specific question about where you are today.

Being honest about the limits

Thousands of couples around the world get the same three cards, and their stories are all different. A birth date sets the theme, not the plot. So tarot compatibility is not a tool for deciding whether to start or end a relationship — it is a prompt for conversation, not a ruling.

Each compatibility check counts as one reading from your daily allowance: three a day without signing in, ten after signing in with Telegram or email.

Frequently asked questions

What if our tarot compatibility looks bad?

There is no bad compatibility in this calculation, only demanding combinations that call for more talking and patience. Look at the couple's card: it shows what the two of you are here to work on together.

Do I need my partner's exact year of birth?

Yes, the year is part of the sum, and without it the card may change. If you do not know it, ask rather than guess — being off by even one year changes the result.

Can I check compatibility with an ex?

You can. The cards show which energies met in that relationship and what it was teaching you. That helps you understand the story, but it does not say whether the person will come back — there is a separate ex reading for that.

Does birth date compatibility work for friends or coworkers?

Yes. The calculation does not know what kind of bond you share; it describes how two natures combine. Just read the couple's card as the card of your friendship or your joint project.

Why do my partner and I have the same card?

It happens when both dates reduce to the same number. You are similar people: you understand each other easily, but you also trip over the same things. The couple's card matters even more here — it shows where to point your shared strength.

Does a compatibility check count toward my daily readings?

Yes, one compatibility check is one reading from your daily allowance: three without signing in, ten after signing in.
