How does he feel about me? A tarot reading

Three cards on what he feels for you, how deep it goes, and why he keeps it to himself.

The cards are shuffling…

Tap to skip straight to choosing

  1. The feeling
  2. Its depth
  3. What keeps it hidden

Sometimes what a person says and what they do just do not add up. He texts, but rarely. He looks at you warmly, then pulls back. A how does he feel about me tarot reading looks past the mixed signals to the feeling itself.

Three cards answer three questions: what he feels for you right now, how deep that feeling runs, and what keeps him from showing it. We say "he" because that is how most people search, but the spread works just as well for how she feels, for same-sex relationships, or for anyone who matters to you.

This spread is about feelings, not thoughts or plans. The cards cannot make anyone fall in love, and they will not predict what he does tomorrow. They show what is going on inside — what you do with that is up to you.

What each position means

  1. 1

    The feeling

The main emotion he holds toward you: attraction, tenderness, desire, doubt or hurt. Read it as a mood, not a forecast.

  2. 2

    Its depth

How rooted the feeling is — a passing spark or something that has grown into his life. Pentacles and Fours speak of stability; Pages and Aces say it is only beginning.

  3. 3

    What keeps it hidden

Fear, pride, past experience or circumstances that keep the feeling inside. A reversed card here often points to a barrier he has not noticed himself.

Example reading

Question: “How does he feel about me after a month of texting?”

  1. The feelingPage of Cups
  2. Its depthSeven of Pentacles
  3. What keeps it hiddenFive of Swordsreversed

The Page of Cups as the feeling is a soft, slightly shy affection: he likes you, and that surprises him a little. The Seven of Pentacles in the depth position says the feeling is growing slowly — he is investing bit by bit, the way people do with something they want to keep. The Five of Swords reversed as what keeps it hidden is the echo of an old conflict he once lost. Opening up again feels risky to him. The feeling is real, but it needs time and a sense of safety rather than pressure.

What each suit says about feelings

The suit of a card colours the feeling it describes. Keep that in mind when a reading surprises you.

  • Cups — emotion itself: falling in love, tenderness, attachment, longing. The most openly romantic suit.
  • Wands — passion, excitement, curiosity. Bright, but it can shift quickly.
  • Swords — feelings filtered through the mind: doubt, inner arguments, old pain. Swords do not mean there is no love, only that it is hard for him to feel it calmly.
  • Pentacles — quiet, steady feelings shown through care and practical help. They look modest in a love reading, yet often mean he is serious.
  • Major Arcana — a feeling that matters more than usual and is changing him.

Feelings or thoughts: which spread to choose

Feeling and thinking are different things. Someone can miss you and still believe you are better apart. If you want to know what is in his heart, you are in the right place. If you care more about the conclusions he draws and what he tells himself about you, open the What Do They Think of Me spread.

To see the whole chain at once — thoughts, feelings and what he actually does — try Thoughts, Feelings, Actions.

Frequently asked questions

What does a heavy card in the feeling position mean?

The Tower, the Ten of Swords or the Five of Cups do not mean he is indifferent. More often they say the feeling is being lived through pain or confusion right now. Check the depth card: if it is a steady one, the bond is stronger than the first card suggests.

Can I use this spread to learn how a woman feels?

Yes. The positions read the same for a man or a woman, and for any couple. Write "she" or her name in your question and Tayna will take it into account.

If his feelings look warm, why isn't he doing anything?

That is what the third card answers. Feeling and action do not always travel together: fear of rejection, a busy life or old experience can get in the way. The cards name the barrier, but they cannot promise it will disappear on its own.

Can I ask how someone feels if we barely know each other?

You can. The cards will then describe a first impression and curiosity rather than deep attachment. Ask honestly: "What do I make him feel after our first meeting?"

How do I know the cards aren't just echoing my hopes?

Phrase your question before you draw, and do not redraw when you dislike the answer — the first reading on a question is the most honest one. Save it to your Book of Secrets and come back in a couple of weeks to compare it with what actually happened.

Why does one card show love and another show distance?

That happens when the feeling is there but the person does not know how to express it, or is afraid to. The spread is built on that contrast: the first card is what is inside, the third is what stands between that feeling and you.
